More Than Just A Hydroelectric Power Plant, It’s Also A Unique Place To Relax
The perfect combination of artificial and natural — Recreation Park in Switzerland
Recreation Park is located in Aarau of Switzerland, very close to the city. Locals like to call it Power Plant Island, which was built in the late 19th century when the Aare River opened a channel for the adjacent hydroelectric power plant.
The Aarau power plant is a run-of-river power plant on the river Aare. It was commissioned in 1894 and is operated by Eniwa AG.
Today not only does it provide electricity for Aarau but also has become a great place for people to walk, jog and walk their dogs.
